Paul McCartney Still Has His C5 Convertible

Since 2005, the legendary Beatle has enjoyed this C5 Corvette convertible while living and working in California.

Paul McCartney isn’t just a Beatle. He’s one of the most celebrated songwriters of the 20th century. As it turns out, he’s also got great taste in automobiles. Our pals over at Corvette Blogger turned us on to this Instagram video shared by Mike Furman. In the video, credited to @truecelbritypop on TikTok, we can see McCartney leaving a southern California music studio behind the wheel of a C5 Corvette convertible.

He’s apparently owned the car for quite a while, and believe it or not, he actually bought it used. He’s had it since 2005.

A Man of Taste

The man is a bonafide legend, and a knight to boot. He could drive any car he wants, and we think it’s really cool that he chooses to drive a twenty-year-old Corvette convertible. Maybe he likes pop-up headlights as much as we do.

McCartney apparently uses the car whenever he’s working in the United States. He’s currently living and working in Los Angeles, so it makes sense that he keeps a car here.

An Electron Blue over tan Corvette convertible isn’t exactly basic. However, in Los Angeles, it probably blends in pretty well with normal traffic. McCartney likely enjoys being somewhat incognito, considering the fact that he’s spent most of his life as one of the biggest celebrities in the world.

Of course, in the video, he’s greeted by many adoring fans as he leaves the studio. He revs the LS1 V8 ever so slightly to merge into traffic after politely waving at his well-wishers.

We’re not much for celebrity gossip here at Corvette Forum, but we do think that it’s pretty cool that McCartney not only chose this car in the first place, but apparently liked it enough to keep it around for so long.

The Corvette still looks to be in great condition, despite apparently being his main mode of transportation when he’s here in the USA. We don’t blame him for using the car as intended instead of wrapped up in a bubble. We can’t conceive of a better way to enjoy Los Angeles than a Corvette convertible.
