Corvette CSR 38th of 72 examples built for the 2009 model year, one of 10 Z06 models in black over black.

Riding high on the dominance Corvette Racing was laying down upon the track in the C6 Era, Chevy dropped a fine tribute into the order book. For the 2009 model year, one could choose the Competition Sport Racing Edition package for their 1LT or Z06 ‘Vette. The track-focused CSR found a handful of takers, with 72 total built through the model year.

One such Corvette CSR landed on the virtual pages of Bring a Trailer recently. Its place in line isn’t the only low number on the file, though.

Purchased in Texas, the 38th Corvette CSR bounced around the U.S. and Canada before landing in Arizona. Yet, despite all of its travels, the ‘Vette only has 92 miles on the odometer, 30 put on by the seller.

Under the CSR Z06’s hood, the still-fresh LS7 made 505 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque, all sent to the back via a six-speed transaxle. Of course, that was the Z06 version. Those who chose the 1LT made do with 436 horses and 428 lb-ft of torque from the LS3 V8. We presume a few burnouts were made over the past 12 years within those 92 miles driven.

According to Corvette Blogger, the 38th CSR is among 20 Z06s equipped with the package. It’s also one of 10 to wear black over black. Thus, this rare ride with low miles is truly rarer than most Corvettes around.

For that rarity, you still have a useable ‘Vette with all the amenities of its day, including an AM/FM stereo with CD, power-adjustable buckets, and a heads-up display to keep your eyes on the road at all times. Certainly makes driving the CSR worthwhile.

This CSR sold for $78,005 in Texas back in 2009. This is nearly $100,000 in 2021 dollars. However, the bid on this rare machine is around $48,000 as of this writing. Another CSR Corvette sold on Bring a Trailer back in 2019 raked in $50,000, and it had only 46 miles on the LS7. Seems like this ‘Vette may head to a new home for about that much.
